Dance Platform in Germany in 2022

14.–20.03.2022

HAU Hebbel am Ufer was responsible for organising the edition of Tanzplattform Deutschland 2022 (Dance Platform Germany), which took place in March 2022. The festival had gathered current and noteworthy perspectives from within the fields of dance and choreography in Berlin. Made possible by funding from the federal culture and media minister, Monika Grütters, and the Lottostiftung Berlin, the 2022 edition was hosted by the German capital for the first time since the Tanzplattform's inaugural event in 1994.

An independent jury selected around 12 productions for the 2022 programme. Eligible are productions realised between September 2019 and December 2021. Besides HAU Hebbel am Ufer, jury members include the journalist and researcher Arlette-Louise Ndakoze, dramaturg Matthias Quabbe, culture journalist and theatre critic Melanie Suchy, and scientist, cultural activist and dramaturge Ana Vujanović.

Tanzplattform Deutschland was founded in 1994 by Nele Hertling, Walter Heun and Dieter Buroch and began as a trilogy in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Since then, it has been taking place biennially in various host cities throughout Germany, determined by the collective of co-organisers, who for 2022 have selected HAU Hebbel am Ufer.
