In 2020, Dance Platform Germany will be hosted by JOINT ADVENTURES in Munich.
Every two years since 1994, TANZPLATTFORM DEUTSCHLAND offers a snapshot of current trends and innovative tendencies on the German dance scene. Founded by Nele Hertling, Dieter Buroch and Walter Heun, the platform provides guests from Germany and abroad with an opportunity to watch a large number of current, contemporary dance productions within a short period of time. Originally organized as part of the network for the choreography competition “Les Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis” as a national showcase for the qualifying round, it has been an independent forum for the presentation of contemporary dance from Germany.
Furthermore, it is a forum where artists and event organisers, members of cultural institutions and a professional audience can meet and exchange ideas.
Each part of the biennial forum is organized by one of the partners.
The International Theatre Institut - German Centre (ITI) was commissioned by the organisers of the GERMAN DANCE PLATFORM to build up a permanent archive in the internet. Follow the links to get information on artists and companies of contemporary dance in Germany, their careers and productions since 1990.
The archive is being updated and extended continousely.
